I have set up a Ryzen 7 1700 system. I bought it at Costco at point it was discounted at point the older CPUs are getting discounted in time for newer.

Interesting as it both as hyper-threading and also two core complexes with their own L3. It will be interesting to see how my performance tools and results might adapt. A few simple things at first:

• AMD doesn’t have same counters used to create topdown metrics on Intel, so am printing “stalled-cycles-frontend” and “stalled-cycles-backend” at first”
• Will add an AMD IPC and Intel IPC metrics for workloads
